Pole fitness is the latest, seriously addictive phenomenon sweeping the nation. This workout helps tone your body from head to toe, increasing your confidence, fitness and flexibility. Our classes incorporate spins, inverts (going upside down), floor work and a whole lot of fun! At Capital MissFits, our pole classes focus on the athletic and gymnastic side of pole, though we do invite students to explore the "sexy" side of pole on their own terms and at their own comfort level.
All of our classes focus on building strength, endurance and skill, developing each student individually at their own pace and according to their individual strengths. Because of this, new students will find themselves quickly and easily integrated into the classes with existing students, and can cover the moves at their own pace.
The pole fitness classes run on a continual basis, so new and existing students can start their classes at any time. We offer three different levels:
Essential - Level 1: Essential covers basic spins, climbs and holds, building a solid foundation of strength and stability that is necessary before moving on to the more intensive moves in Intermediate. This level is open to students who are new to pole or who need to increase their strength before advancing to Intermediate.
Intermediate - Level 2: This class is intended for those who are comfortable with the basics learned in Essential. and want to build their pole dancing skills. Intermediate builds on the foundation earned in Essential and expands on the basic repertoire by incorporating more difficult pole spins, climbs and static holds as well as introducing basic inversions. Students should be relatively comfortable with single handed spins, and can lift or hold their weight in climbs and holds.
Advanced - Level 3: This is where the crazy stuff lives! In the advanced class, students will continue to build their skills, working on the moves that require a lot more strength and flexibility than the previous levels. Students will learn to execute and transition between advanced moves with safety, poise and control. This level is suitable for students who are strong enough to lift into inverts comfortably and have strong body awareness.
